The HCG Diet Protocol – Understanding the Basics

HCG dietThe HCG diet involves a fairly strict set of guidelines, but for many individuals, properly following the protocol has helped them jumpstart their journey to weight loss. At Pharmacy Rx Solutions, we are dedicated to helping our customers achieve their weight loss goals, and we are proud to offer several different HCG injection kits and information about the diet protocol to get them started.

When you purchase an HCG injection kit from Pharmacy Rx and follow an HCG diet plan, you will be required to:

  • Administer daily injections of a specific amount of HCG.
  • Closely follow a multi-phased, low-calorie diet during the specific program length, taking special care to avoid sugar and foods with a high fat content.
  • Drink plenty of water and other water-based beverages, such as tea and coffee.

Additionally, it’s believed that when you begin the diet and use HCG, side effects such as fatigue, lightheadedness, and hunger – all issues that are often associated with other low-calorie diets – may not affect you at all.

The Four Phases of the HCG Diet

The HCG diet comprises four phases, with each phase having its specific requirements. The first phase spans two days and allows you to eat calorie-dense foods like cheeseburgers, pizza, baked potatoes, and desserts. The purpose of this stage is fat storage for your body, which triggers the hypothalamus to release hormones required for weight loss.

It’s in phase two, which lasts 26 to 40 days, that the actual weight loss happens. While calorie intake is restricted, food options are not limited. You can eat a variety of vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, beet greens, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, fennel, cucumbers, radishes, and asparagus. Proteins such as white fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, extra-lean beef, and chicken are also allowed, provided that the meat and poultry are skinless and cooked without fat. The list of fruits you can eat in phase two includes apples, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and lemons.

In phase three, which lasts for three weeks, foods that were not permitted in phase two are gradually reintroduced—that includes avocado, tuna, nuts, and almond butter.

After completing phase three, you’ll transition to the maintenance phase, phase four occurs. In this phase, you’ll need to limit sugars and unhealthy fats. For achieving weight loss goals, avoiding processed foods is crucial in this phase.
